Nature Connection - Free Virtual Meetup

The evidence is clear; our emotional, physical and cognitive health all improve dramatically, even with small doses of regular mindful. embodied nature connection. In this world of polarizing separation and isolation, nature connection also deepens our sense of belonging to something much more vast than ourselves and develops greater empathy and generosity towards other beings of all species. This, in turn, can inspire and nourish us to take more actions to protect and regenerate our home planet, Earth.  Win-win! This interactive talk will explore the intersection of scientific research and our own felt sense of the imperative of nature connection for the health and survival of the human species - and many other species!

Remembering, as Vandana Shiva says, we are not Atlas carrying the world on our shoulders, the planet is carrying us. Sinking into this knowing through direct experience of the ways that Earth supports us has been the subject of 30+ years of research in Japan, culminating in the practice of Shinrin-Yoku, or Forest Bathing. Also known as Forest Therapy, the practice is immersing in the atmosphere of the forest and other natural settings with all of our senses and rekindling our relationships with the other-than-human beings who inhabit our shared habitat.
