What Are LifeResults Tools?

During the LifeResults Core weekend, you’ll learn powerful tools for mindfulness, communication, and overcoming self-imposed limitations through a mix of engaging activities, group discussions, and self-reflection.

Essence

As we go through childhood, we build layer upon layer upon layer of protection around ourselves, as a reaction to hurts, disappointments, conflict, neglect, etc. Those layers get thicker and thicker until we lose the ability to see our true self and the magic that we have within us.  And other people also are not able to see the magic within us.  This module gives participants access to their magical core – all of their gifts, talents, capabilities, joy, passion and love/respect for themselves and others.

 

The 6-Step Growth Process

There are 6 steps that each of go through repeatedly as we grow and develop ourselves personally and professionally. These 6 steps also apply when we are trying to solve an important problem.  Knowing which step you are on, and what the next step is, helps you to move through the process efficiently. There also are barriers that come up, and recognizing those barriers allows us to overcome them. This module gives you the ability to know where you are in the process, so that you can move yourself forward efficiently and overcome whatever barriers come up.

 

Reaction versus Response

As part of our survival mechanism, we often react automatically to situations in a negative way.  That is where all of the damage occurs. That’s where people attack or get defensive, abandon or run away, fail to take necessary actions, and pretend that things are fine and that no one will notice.  In every situation, each of us has the opportunity to CHOOSE to Respond based on personal and shared goals, moving things forward for ourselves and others.  This module gives you the awareness to see when you are automatically reacting in harmful ways, and shift yourself into a place of responding rather than reacting.

 

Trust and Damage Formulas

We often withhold respect from the people around us and our Reaction causes us to attack and negatively judge others. That causes all kinds of problems. There is a better way, which is to intentionally bring respect and acceptance into challenging situations, even when the other person or people are not behaving the way we want.  It only takes one person in a situation to turn it from negative/conflict to positive/forward-moving.  In this module, we look at two linguistic models, one that is Reactive and automatic, and the other that is Responsive and only happens by intention/choice. 

 

Centering

One of the main ways that we can punch through all of our layers that protect us and others from our Essence is through guided meditation (mindfulness) that we call “Centering.”  Centering allows us to become present to what is happening right now, letting go of complaints and issues from the past and worries about the future. Once we are in a centered state, we are much more capable and resourceful, and we are much more likely to Respond positively to challenging situations, rather than Reacting negatively. This module will give you the ability to ground yourself daily so that you are much more effective.

Journaling

Writing down our thoughts and feelings is a very powerful way of clearing our mind so that we can be fully mindful/present. It is also a great way to generate clarity about our dreams, visions and options.  Journaling helps us to think clearly and be mindful.  We use Journaling as a tool through the various LifeResults programs, and encourage you to journal every day.  This module teaches you how to journal.

Programs and Patterns

As a Reaction to being hurt, disappointed, attacked and neglected, we make decisions and build habits that become so automatic that we are no longer aware of them. This module gives you the ability to identify the Programs and Patterns that you are running that served you as a protection earlier in life that no longer serve you in your current life.  “Don’t talk to strangers” as a child turns into “Don’t call customers” as an adult. In this module, you will have the opportunity to rid yourself of the habits, patterns and programs that are getting in the way of the results you want to have at work and in your personal life.

 

Balance Square

We all want balance in our life. But many of us find that hard to achieve.  In this module we will explore the 4 domains in which we can invest time and energy, and identify which domains are receiving too much or not enough time/energy and create a plan for fixing that.  By shifting where we invest our time and energy, we can achieve the Balance that we crave.

 

Effective Listening & Speaking

When we are truly heard, it is magical.  But very often the person we are talking with is distracted, or judging us, or thinking about something else (like what they are going to say next). We usually are not fully heard. Often times we struggle to overcome the fear, and share our ideas and feelings with others in a powerful way which causes the world to miss out on what we have to say and contribute. In this module, you will learn and practice Active/Open Listening using our technique, and you will practice Speaking Your Truth, sharing how you feel and what you think, even in the face of fear.

 

Self-Respect, Self-Esteem, Self-Love and Confidence

We know it’s important, and we all want it.  But how to do we create it?  And how often do we sacrifice our own needs in order to get respect and love from others?  How often is our love/respect tank empty? In this module you will learn how to love, respect and take care of yourself (fill up your tank) while also understanding the needs of others and meeting those needs without sacrificing your own needs and emptying your tank.

 

Workshop of My Mind

In this guided mindfulness exercise, you will unlock the power of your human mind to envision future outcomes and solve problems/challenges, and then create plans to fulfill on what you have envisioned.  This is a process that you can take yourself through whenever you want, and has proven to be a very powerful tool that you can use whenever you are facing a challenge, problem or opportunity.

Negative Circumstances & Downward Spirals

We all encounter negative circumstances, both small and large.  This module will give you the ability to notice when you are automatically Reacting out of fear or some other negative emotion and being part of a downward negative Reaction cycle. It will also give you the ability to lead yourself and others to rise above the negative circumstance, and take actions that are aligned with goals, vision and mission rather than fear, anger, frustration, etc.  It only takes one person to do that, and when they do, the negative downward spiral is switched to a positive upward spiral.

 

Responsibility Square

We often try and solve problems or conflict by getting others to change.  And other people often try and solve problems or conflict by getting us to change. This approach generates a lot of resentment in ourselves and others. This module will give you the ability to notice when you are trying to change others and shift to identifying what action you can take (or stop taking) that will shift the situation back to a positive one. If my actions are driven by reactions to what the other person is doing, I am not in charge – the other person is.  Leadership occurs when I can stay in charge of myself and my actions, because then I have the chance to take actions that will move myself and everyone else forward.

 

Feedback

Feedback is one of the most powerful forces in life and most of us are not good at giving or receiving feedback. So much of the value of feedback is lost. This happens at work and at home. In this module, you will learn how to give feedback in a way that the other person can hear and use, and to receive feedback in a way that allows you to take advantage of it to improve yourself. This is the key to professional and personal development. It is also the key to having successful relationships at home and work.

 

Releasing Resentment

A significant amount of our time and energy is lost to resentment. Feeling sad or angry about things that have happened to us in the past.  In this module you will learn and practice a powerful mindfulness/ centering tool that allows you to identify the grip that resentment has on you, and release it, freeing up energy, time and creativity for that you can use productively.

Leadership Centering

In this guided mindfulness exercise, you will discover the huge and untapped leadership potential that is inside of you and start expressing it.  You will discover that each of us can be a powerful leader, even when we are not occupying a traditional leadership role (manager, parent, etc).  You will discover that Leadership is a practice not a title.

 

Turning Intentions into Results

We all have intentions.  Sometimes those intentions turn into results. Sometimes they don’t.  In this module you will discover what happens when your intentions do not turn into results, and what you can do about it, so that your success rate goes up considerably.  Producing results is all about overcoming barriers and obstacles – “Failing Forward”.  This is a chance to discover how that mechanism works.
