Page-Turners Book Club

** Pre-requisite: Foundations, Core (Basic), EIW, ImagineMe or IPI

Join us for a creative take on our book club, Page-Turners! Each month we will have a new book to discuss along with podcasts associated with our monthly topic. Take your time, read/listen at your pace, then join us to connect and discuss.

Our theme for this month is Forgiveness.

Book: The Gift of Forgiveness by Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt

The book features interviews with people who had to deal with acts that required forgiveness... yet they struggled with the question of whether forgiveness means you have to forget the acts committed. Some of the people she interviewed are folks in the news, others are ordinary people grappling with tragedies and grief. It’s just 200 pages and features short interviews with people both famous and unknown who have had to deal with forgiving deep and in some cases, unforgivable, acts. As many noted, you can forgive even without reconciling with the person—a topic also worth discussing!

Lots of great ideas and all one needs to do is read the introduction and then any of the stories that appeal to you! No time to read? We’ll also have some podcasts where she was interviewed. One great quote I got out of a podcast “You never know how strong you are until you have to accept an apology that is never offered."

If you are a listener more than a reader, I have listened to a few podcast interviews with her. I’ll link them shortly.
I look forward to hearing what everybody has to say!!

PS—the book is available in local libraries. Tell them you’re in a book club and you can get extra time!
